Privacy Policy
This is the section description
ParkPad Privacy Policy Effective Date: September 2, 2026
1. Introduction
ParkPad LLC ("ParkPad," "we," "us," or "our") operates a website and online marketplace located at ParkPad.com and any related mobile-optimized services (collectively, the "Site") that connects individuals who wish to make a parking space available ("Hosts") with individuals who wish to rent, lease, or license a parking space ("Parkers,"** and together with Hosts, "Users," "you," or "your"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use and share it, the choices available to you, and how you can contact us with questions.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into, and should be read together with, our Website Terms of Use and our Marketplace Terms and Conditions. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is built and hosted using Sharetribe, a third-party marketplace software platform ("Sharetribe"), and payment processing on the Site is provided by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates ("Stripe"). Sharetribe and Stripe each play a role in how information is collected and processed on the Site, as described further below.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We (and, in some cases, Sharetribe on our behalf as our platform provider) collect information you choose to give us, including:
● Account and registration information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and password.
● Host listing information, such as the address or location of a parking space, a description of the space, photographs, availability, and pricing.
● Identity and authorization information we may request from a Host to help confirm that the Host has the right to offer a space on the Marketplace (for example, documentation showing an address, ownership, or authorization to use the space).
● Communications, including messages you send to other Users through the Site, reviews and ratings you post, and communications you send to our customer support.
● Profile content, such as a profile photo or optional biographical information you choose to add.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
The Site is intentionally limited in the technical information it collects. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers, advertising pixels, or third-party behavioral-analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) on the Site. We currently collect only:
● Basic technical and log data inherent to operating a website, such as your IP address, browser type, and access times, which may be logged by our hosting and security infrastructure for purposes of operating, securing, and troubleshooting the Site.
● Essential cookies and similar technologies needed to keep you logged in, remember basic preferences, and keep the Site functioning and secure. See Section 6 (Cookies and Similar Technologies) below.
● Location information you type in, such as a neighborhood or address you search for. We do not perform continuous, background, or precise device-location tracking of Users.
If this practice changes in the future — for example, if we begin using analytics tools, advertising, or additional tracking technologies — we will update this Privacy Policy before doing so and, where required by law, obtain your consent.
2.3 Information Collected by Stripe (Payment Processor)
Payments, payouts, and identity verification required for payments are handled directly by Stripe, not by ParkPad. When a Host connects a Stripe account, or a Parker submits payment for a Booking, Stripe collects information directly from you, which may include your full payment card or bank account number, government identification information required for identity verification and fraud prevention, and other data described in Stripe's own privacy policy. ParkPad does not receive, view, or store your full payment card number or bank account number, and we do not collect or send health information to Stripe. Stripe's collection, use, and disclosure of your information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, and the Stripe Services Agreement (including Stripe's Data Processing Agreement, which allocates data-processing responsibilities between ParkPad and Stripe) — each of which you must review and accept separately from this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read Stripe's privacy policy before connecting a Stripe account.
Stripe may also share limited information about your Stripe Account with ParkPad, including outputs of Stripe's fraud and risk-detection models. We may use this information to help evaluate and approve Listings and accounts and to prevent fraud on the Marketplace, as described in Section 3 above.
2.4 Information Processed Through Sharetribe (Platform Provider)
We use Sharetribe as the underlying software platform that powers the Site's marketplace features (account management, listings, messaging, and bookings). Sharetribe processes personal data on our behalf, as our service provider, to provide this hosting and technical functionality, subject to a data processing agreement between ParkPad and Sharetribe. Sharetribe has represented to ParkPad that it does not use your personal data for its own independent marketing purposes. If you believe Sharetribe is doing this, please contact Sharetribe directly.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
● create, maintain, and secure User accounts and Listings;
● operate the Marketplace, including displaying Listings, facilitating Bookings, and enabling communication between Hosts and Parkers;
● assist with confirming that a Host appears authorized to list a space, and reviewing Listings for indicators of fraud or misuse before they are published;
● facilitate payments and payouts through Stripe;
● send transactional and administrative communications, such as booking confirmations, receipts, and policy updates, by email and, if you provide a mobile phone number and opt in, by SMS text message (see Section 8.3 below);
● respond to customer support requests and resolve disputes;
● detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Use or Marketplace Terms and Conditions;
● comply with applicable law, respond to legal process, and enforce our rights; and
● maintain and improve the Site's functionality and reliability.
We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
4. How We Share Information
We share personal information in the following circumstances:
● With other Users, as necessary to complete a Booking. For example, when a Booking is confirmed, we share the Parker's name and relevant contact or vehicle information with the Host, and we share the Host's Listing address and relevant details with the Parker, so that the Booking can be carried out.
● With Stripe, to process payments, payouts, and refunds, and to perform identity verification and fraud prevention associated with payment processing.
● With Sharetribe, as our platform and hosting service provider, to operate the Site.
● With other service providers, such as email delivery, customer support, and cloud-hosting vendors, who process information on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own independent purposes.
● For legal and safety reasons, including to comply with applicable law, respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process, protect the rights, property, or safety of ParkPad, our Users, or the public, or investigate suspected fraud or violations of our Terms.
● In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of some or all of ParkPad's assets, in which case personal information may be among the assets transferred.
● With your consent, or at your direction.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not currently work with third-party advertisers, and the Site does not currently share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. If that changes, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any choices required by applicable law before doing so.
5. Other Users' and Third Parties' Independent Privacy Practices
Stripe processes certain information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, available at Stripe's website. Similarly, if you follow a link from the Site to a third-party website or service, that third party's own privacy practices, not this Privacy Policy, will govern the information you provide there. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service, including Stripe, before providing information to it.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site currently uses only cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Site — for example, to keep you signed in and to help maintain the security and integrity of the Site. We do not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings; please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site from functioning properly. If we begin using additional categories of cookies in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, provide a cookie consent mechanism.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to operate the Marketplace, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Because these Terms limit the time to bring most claims relating to the Site to one (1) year, and because certain tax and business records must be kept longer under applicable law, we may retain certain transaction-related records for longer than one year. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we will delete it or render it non-identifiable.
8. Your Choices and Rights
8.1 Accessing and Updating Your Information
You may review and update most of your account and Listing information directly through your account settings on the Site.
8.2 Deleting Your Account
You may delete your account at any time using the account-deletion option available on the Site, or by emailing us at the address in Section 13. Even after deletion, we may retain certain information as required by law, or as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping, and enforcement of our agreements.
8.3 Communications Preferences
Transactional and administrative messages (such as booking confirmations and legal notices) cannot be opted out of, as they are necessary to operate your account. If you provide a mobile phone number and opt in to SMS text messaging, you may opt out at any time by texting STOP to the number from which you received a message or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings; message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. See Section 21 of our Website Terms of Use for the full terms of our SMS program, including how to get help. If we ever send optional marketing communications, we will include an option to unsubscribe.
8.4 State Privacy Law Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable state privacy laws may give you rights such as the right to know or access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the right to request deletion or correction of your personal information, and the right to be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising these rights. We will honor a good-faith request consistent with the rights described in this section for any User, regardless of state of residence, subject to verification of your identity and applicable exceptions under law. To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 13. As noted above, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is currently no opt-out of sale or sharing to exercise.
8.5 Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to such signals, the Site does not currently respond to them differently — though, as described above, we do not perform behavioral tracking regardless.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for use only by individuals who are at least 18 years old, and the Marketplace is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete it.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
11. Where Your Information Is Processed
ParkPad is based in, and the Marketplace is designed for, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws different from those of your home jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and post the updated policy on the Site. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Site after an updated Privacy Policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
